The development of 4 WBT modules in combination with live training

Project description

The client from the plant engineering sector wanted to develop comprehensive project management competencies within the workforce. The objective was to set up a project management academy that would provide an integrated learning experience consisting of Web-Based Training (WBT) and live training to offer trainees maximum flexibility in the learning process. For this purpose, a three-stage learning concept comprising 4 WBT modules and a four-day face-to-face training/virtual classroom (VC) format was developed and implemented.

Kick-Off

Hosting of a kick-off workshop with all relevant stakeholders as well as joint development of the training content

Conceptual Design

Creating the methodological-didactic blended learning concept including the storyboard for WBT development

Development of the individual e-learning modules

Preparation of the WBT modules with videos, interactive diagrams, and quiz units

Development of the live training units

Based on the individual e-learning modules, the training program for consolidating the content provided in the WBTs was designed

Result

  • The WBT modules gave employees the opportunity to prepare for the interactive training, thereby cementing their project management knowledge, for example, with rounds of questions with senior project managers.
  • The program generated a project management culture in the company that saw employees form a collaborative community in which to exchange ideas about project management issues and share inspiration.
  • The company is already setting up additional academy levels.
